Dear colleagues, for your information, please find attached information about a Workshop on Digestive System in Cephalopods:

Next November in Lisbon - Portugal (November  24, 2015), we will convene for a “special scientific event” dedicated to the digestive system in cephalopods, with a focus on physiology, nutrition and metabolism. See the first announcement at www.cephsinaction.org/digestive-system-cephalopods

In contrast to many areas of cephalopod biology, the digestive tract has not been the subject of such extensive study.
However, understanding its normal functioning has wide ranging implications for aquaculture, fisheries and for the care and welfare of cephalopods in the laboratory where research is now subject to regulation under Directive 2010/63/EU.
We believe that focusing on a specific topic with presentations of recent data and advances will represent an opportunity for us to get to know what is going on in this relatively neglected, but important area. In addition to talks by invited speakers there will be oral presentations, and possibly a poster session open to others including participants of the CephsInAction meeting.

The one day workshop will be organized in sessions covering the following key topics:

If you are interested in participating and possibly contributing, please send an email to [log in to unmask] (subject: CephsGut2015) including a possible topic for your contribution. After the first collection of this Expression of Interest we will ask for an official abstract submission. You should reply to this email by 10th June, 2015.

Best regards to everyone

Catalina
