With only a month to go until the CILIP Conference 2015 (2-3 July, Liverpool) an exciting range of Fringe events has now been added to the conference programme.  The Fringe has been developed alongside the main conference programme and gives delegates the opportunity to explore some of the conference themes in more depth, as well as having additional time to network with colleagues and take part in other fun activities. Two keynote speakers will be holding Q&A sessions following their presentations; R. David Lankes will be available after his session “An Action Plan for World Domination through Librarianshipand Guardian columnist Erwin James will be taking questions and delving into his session topic “A good book can change the way you think about life”.

CILIP President Jan Parry will be talking about her experiences on the panel of the Hillsborough Inquiry and how her skills as an Information Professional were used by the panel and contributed greatly to the outcome. The Ideas Box, a major innovation for improving access to information and culture for all, can be experienced at the conference. Brought to the conference by Libraries Without Borders, a French-American not-for-profit, this set of six durable water and dust proof boxes designed in conjunction with Phillippe Starck and the UN Refugee Agency transform to provide the service and content equivalent of a small town library.  Barbara Schack, Director of Development, will be analysing the impact of the Ideas Box in her keynote presentation and there will be workshop offering delegates a chance to interact with the equipment as part of the Fringe.
