The symposium emergedbecause the organisers had been working on breast cancer for a number of yearsand knew of critical work being done in the country. But they realized thatactivists, artists, academics, practitioners, and the public were rarely awareof each other’s work. Differences in disciplinary focus, geographic location, lack of time, funding, or ‘expertise’ were all barriers to information sharing. To fill the gap, they convened an international symposium, which was free tofacilitate public participation. They are also co-editing volume aimed at sharingnew ways of understanding breast cancer, informing those in healthcare andpolicy, and engaging the public.  For a flavor of the symposium you can access thereport here: http://breastcancerconsortium.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/International-Symposium-BC-and-Feminism-2015-04-09.pdfThank youCaterina, Gerard and Ana
