Hi, Craig,

I really appreciate your help. It is very nice of you.

The Test1.f90 and Test2.FOR were made by us, not from the website. We attempted to learn how to run the analysis, how to get start with their example. Actually, we just copied the code from the link: http://www.newcl.org/software/qmpe/gettingstartedqmpe.htm

As we were not sure whether we need use the file with extension.f90 or FOR, so prepared two files, but with the same content - see the attachment.

Thanks a lot,
J

I just downloaded the archive file from the link you gave me.  The archive file only includes these *.f90 files:  qmpe.f90, datagear.f90, minimiser.f90, and objectives.f90.  It does NOT contain either Text1.f90 nor Text2.FOR.  You must have gotten those files from somewhere else.  Please attach those files to any reply you make to this list.

From the error messages, I strongly suspect that the files Test1.f90 and Test2.FOR are not Fortran source code in spite of their file extensions.  However, I cannot know for sure until I see what’s in them.

As for your other question, the best free Fortran compiler in my experience is GFortran by the GNU Project.  Here is a link:   https://gcc.gnu.org/wiki/GFortran

Please feel free to contact me at any time with any questions or concerns that you may have.  I am looking forward to hearing from you soon.

Sincerely,

Hi, List experts,

My friend and I could not run this code, as both of us are new with Fortran. I was wondering who can successfully make it run. Or any suggestion?

The code and the environment is in this link: http://www.newcl.org/software/qmpe/gettingstartedqmpe.htm

Below is the error alarm report. Any suggestions are much appreciated.

Also, any good pointers if I want to get a free Fortran 90, rather than this Studio? Please give me a safe link to download it.

Sincerely,

J
