            I just downloaded the archive file from the link you gave me.  The archive file only includes these *.f90 files:  qmpe.f90, datagear.f90, minimiser.f90, and objectives.f90.  It does NOT contain either Text1.f90 nor Text2.FOR.  You must have gotten those files from somewhere else.  Please attach those files to any reply you make to this list.

 

            From the error messages, I strongly suspect that the files Test1.f90 and Test2.FOR are not Fortran source code in spite of their file extensions.  However, I cannot know for sure until I see what’s in them.

 

            As for your other question, the best free Fortran compiler in my experience is GFortran by the GNU Project.  Here is a link:   https://gcc.gnu.org/wiki/GFortran
