We’ve recently launched a new online course catalogue and have switched from having separate “overview” tabs for each year of entry
plus tabs for more detail that was common to both to fully combined tabbed pages for each course. We’ve done this because there is now so little information that is different between years of entry that duplicating it can cause confusion.
I’m sure there will be a few things to work out throughout the rest of the cycle, for example how to indicate whether a course is available
through clearing/adjustment, but we believe we can do this within a single page.
Our new course database is XCRI-ish so we still record information against “presentations” linked to courses and this enables us to
store and display some of the information that is variable.
I think* I might be talking about some of this at my session at IWMW which you should totally book onto, and not just because it’s
being held at (THE University of the Year) Edge Hill!
Two of my colleagues who’ve been leading on the new online prospectus are going to the XCRI-CAP workshop in Manchester later this month
so if you’re there say hello!
Cheers,
Mike
* Haven’t yet convinced a colleague to co-present so it might be about something else entirely!

Subject: [WEBSITE-INFO-MGT] Course info - quick straw poll
Hi folks
Quick question:
Do any of you have separate undergraduate course information online for different years of entry (e.g. 2015, 2016) or just one set of course information to cover all years of entry?
This could be a can of worms, but I will see where this goes. . . .
Cheers
C.
