And to add more detail on the implementation side:

The search and POI information are retrieved from a HAL/JSON API
(http://api.m.ox.ac.uk/) originally designed for our mobile offering,
http://m.ox.ac.uk/.

The building and unit information exposed through that API are
maintained as a reusable openly-licensed dataset, linked to OSM so we
can pull in building shape information.

The tiles are generated by TileMill, using the FOSS run-it-yourself
approach (as opposed to Mapbox's hosted offering).
