Dear All

The NCCPE team are sad to share the news of the tragic death of Dr Martha Farrell of PRIA India. She died in Kabul, Afghanistan from an armed attack on the guest house where she was staying. She was in Kabul providing gender training to staff members of the Aga Khan Trust. She was killed along with a number of others.

Martha was an inspiring leader who campaigned against violence towards women in India, and across the world. We were privileged to know her and to have welcomed her as a keynote at our Engage 2013 conference, where she challenged and inspired us to find ways to work together to tackle injustice.

Our thoughts are with her husband Rajesh Tandon, her family and the members of PRIA, of which she was a Director.

The PRIA web site will carry more news as it is learned.

We feel blessed to have known her
