Message from the MIST mailing list. Dear colleagues I would be grateful if you could let your undergraduates know about an opportunity to spend 8 paid weeks working at BAS this summer supported by the EnvEast doctoral training partnership. The project is entitled "How much effect does space weather really have on the atmosphere and how well can we predict those effects" The successful candidate will work with Andrew Kavanagh and Ingrid Cnossen looking at data from EISCAT and other radars and with hands on experience of running WACCM (Whole Atmosphere Community Climate Model). They will get to work with our engineers and data managers to get their data from Antarctica and will have the opportunity to attend some of the training given to wintering staff preparing to travel to Antarctica. The candidate will be studying for a degree in a quantitative discipline, preferably physics, maths or statistics. More details, including eligibility criteria, can be found at http://goo.gl/UUIYXm which also gives details on the application process Best regards Andrew ---------------------------------------------- Dr. Andrew J.
