***Apologies for any cross posting** [cid:image002.png@01D0915F.E1D3D020] Public Health & Health Promotion Research Group Intersectionality & Public Health Reading Group Wednesday 22nd July 2015 2:00pm - 5:00pm Liberty Room at Winterbourne House, University of Birmingham, 8 Edgbaston Park Road, Edgbaston, Birmingham, B15 2RT Grounded in black feminist scholarship and activism, intersectionality was formally coined in 1989 by black legal scholar Kimberlé Williams Crenshaw. The reading group will provide the opportunity to discuss and explore the history of intersectionality and its application to public policy and public health in a creative, artistic and fun environment. Pre-reading is required and will be circulated in early June. Light refreshments will be provided.
