We are delighted that the BBCıs official historian, Professor Jean Seaton, has agreed to give the second lecture in the series. Having just published the latest volume of the BBCıs history for 1974-1987, Jean has gained a unique insight into the Corporationıs workings during that crucial period and the lessons and parallels for todayıs BBC. VLV Patron Will Wyatt, the former Chief Executive of BBC Broadcast, was a rising executive throughout this time and is uniquely placed to chair the lecture. Jean Seaton is Professor of Media History at the University of Westminster <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/University_of_Westminster> and the official historian of the BBC <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BBC> . She is the Director of the Orwell Prize <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orwell_Prize> and on the editorial board of Political Quarterly <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Political_Quarterly> . She has written widely on broadcasting history and the politics of the media, especially on the BBC, as well as on news, they ways in which wars are covered, and children and the media. ------------------------------------------------- MeCCSA Policy mailing list W: http://www.jiscmail.ac.uk/lists/meccsa-policy.html Please visit this page to browse list's archives, or to join or leave the list.
