Webinar: Getting started with Individual level census data (microdata)
Thursday 4 June 2015
Online at 3pm
Presenter: Jo Wathan, Census Service, UK Data Service
Individual level census data or ‘census microdata’ are samples of records which are available in an anonymous form for research use. They are flexible census products which
are well suited to filling in the gaps between published tables or creating analyses for subpopulations from simple graphs to multivariate models.
In this free hour long webinar we will be introducing census microdata (formerly known as SARs). We will show what these data are, what datasets are available and are anticipated. We
will focus on the 2011 data: the datasets researchers can use, their characteristics, where you can get hold of the data and what you can do with it.
The webinar is suitable for those with no previous knowledge of census microdata but may also be of interest to those who have used data before, but would like an update.
The event consists of a half hour presentation, followed by the opportunities to ask questions.
