ASDAN has recently worked with the University of Warwick and the Progression Trust in the context of widening participation to develop solutions to pupil’s anxiety with learning Mathematics. The approach to dealing with the problem of maths anxiety (which for some learners has proved to be a considerable barrier for continuing participation and progression) can be used by staff, including Teaching and Learning Support Assistants, and also parents and carers, to help young people deal with anxieties which block their achievement in maths and also in other areas of learning.
