I would echo Kenji's comments about the Viewpoints cards, which are excellent for getting people to think about the principles which will underpin their course design . The cards Penny mentioned work well when working with mixed groups of students and staff when people are at the stage of planning the delivery. Again, they are good for starting conversations. We often use them in conjunction with these resources on assessment types (each individual type has a downloadable PDF version http://www.celt.mmu.ac.uk/assessment/design/types.php - for instance, people can choose a type of assessment and then think about how best to design the course to support that assignment. It's also a fairly simple format to follow - perhaps not too dissimilar to MMU's approach. ;-) Kenji Lamb Soffed e: [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]> w: www.soffed.com<http://www.soffed.com> m: 075 1352 4474 t: @kenjilamb l: www.linkedin.com/in/kklamb<http://www.linkedin.com/in/kklamb> From: Online forum for SEDA, the Staff & Educational Development Association [mailto:[log in to unmask]] On Behalf Of Penny Sweasey Sent: 14 April 2015 07:44 To: [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]> Subject: Re: Materials for Programme Development Panos This time... With the web link! http://www.celt.mmu.ac.uk/curriculum/course_planning_cards/index.php We get good feedback on the 'planning cards' approach, which you are welcome to try out. At MQ we put a great emphasis on Coherent Programme Development and we would like to get our Programme Teams thinking creatively about their overall designs. We would be interested, for example, for any set of materials or process that helps academics work (truly) collaboratively to conceptualise and design a programme. Or any materials or processes that take into account the student voice (and involvement) in the design phase etc. Also, any relevant publications in this space would be greatly appreciated! all best wishes Panos -- [https://docs.google.com/uc?export=download&id=0B9OjLTZUkNrdby1Sbm91SXk2VWM&revid=0B9OjLTZUkNrdVTB6NEtjNWt3Zi9VUUFyTnBUd2dDNlZCWnV3PQ]<http://mq.edu.au/> Dr Panos Vlachopoulos<mailto:[log in to unmask]> Senior Lecturer in Higher Education Development Learning and Teaching Centre | Macquarie University, Sydney, NSW, 2109 Building C3B Room 412 | T: +61298509677 "Before acting on this email or opening any attachments you should read the Manchester Metropolitan University email disclaimer available on its website http://www.mmu.ac.uk/emaildisclaimer " ________________________________ [Avast logo]<http://www.avast.com/> This email has been checked for viruses by Avast antivirus software. www.avast.com<http://www.avast.com/> "Before acting on this email or opening any attachments you should read the Manchester Metropolitan University email disclaimer available on its website http://www.mmu.ac.uk/emaildisclaimer "
