The Job
An opportunity has arisen for a GIS &
Modelling Analyst in the International Property Research team at Tesco, based
in the UK but supporting our teams across Europe and Asia.
As
a function, Property Research supports the business by providing strategic insight
to guide decision making with regards to new store appraisal, estate
optimisation and broader customer research.
Main
Responsibilities
•
Develop sales forecast models &
frameworks in conjunction with country teams to support new store assessment
•
Develop GIS functionality to
support country analysts with delivery of spatial insight to drive property
actions and improved sales performance
•
Develop and define best practice on
core property research analytical tasks
•
Coach and upskill country analysts
to build their analytical and insight capability
•
Identify and evaluate new data
sources that could enhance the insight in a country
•
Undertake analytical project work
to provide actionable insight into key property-related business issues
Ideal
Candidate
To succeed in this role you’ll need:
•
A high level of numeracy with
strong analytical and problem solving skills
•
Experience of using statistical
packages such as R, SAS or SPSS for analysis of large datasets and to build
predictive models alongside advanced spreadsheet and database skills
•
To be a strong communicator able to
explain complex ideas to a wide range of audiences
In addition it’s an advantage if you have:
•
Experience of using Geographic
Information Systems for spatial analysis
•
Knowledge of SQL or similar
language
•
Willingness to undertake travel
overseas
