Dear All

Apologies for cross-postings

This is a final reminder that the deadline for early-bird registration and abstract submission for the Granulites & granulites conference to be held from 26 - 29 July 2015 in Windhoek, Namibia is this Friday, 24 April.

There are still two places available for the pre-conference field trip to the Mesoproterozoic Namaqua Metamorpic Complex in southern Namibia. A number of places are also available for the post-conference field trip to the Central Zone of the Damara Belt in western Namibia. Both these field trips will visit exceptional exposures of mid-crustal granulites and examine the processes responsible for the generation, segregation and far-field transfer of granitic melt in these rocks.

For the conference, we invite contributions on any aspect of granulite facies metamorphism or granitic melt migration, as the conference will focus on the broad theme of crustal anatexis, the formation of granulites through partial melting, the extraction of granitic melt from the source rocks and its transfer through the crust. Keynote speakers on these topics include Michael Brown (University of Maryland), Edward Sawyer (University of Quebec at Chicoutimi), Martin Hand (University of Adelaide) and Alex Kisters (University of Stellenbosch).

Further details about the conference, field trips and registration information are available at www.granulites2015.com.na<http://www.granulites2015.com.na>.

Best Regards,

Johann Diener, for the organising committee:

Johann Diener (University of Cape Town)
Richard White (University of Mainz)
Ben Mapani (University of Namibia)
Gary Stevens (University of Stellenbosch)
