Lectureship/Assistant Professor*


Permanent Post

 

Applications are invited for a permanent Lectureship* (above the bar) in the UCD School of Sociology.   

 

The successful candidate may contribute to teaching and research in the broad area of Computational and Analytical Sociology


Preference will be given to candidates with research and teaching interests that align with one or more of our existing graduate training and structured PhD programmes in the following areas:  

Applicants must have a PhD in Sociology or cognate discipline, a strong, demonstrable commitment to research and international publication, an ability to teach at University level, a capacity for graduate student supervision, excellent interpersonal skills, and a capacity and enthusiasm for working both within the discipline as well as interdisciplinary settings and the wider academic community.          


The appointee will carry out normal teaching, examining, administration and research duties and will contribute to other activities of the School as directed by the Head of School and/or his/her nominee. See Job description for full details.

2013 (2010) Lecturer (ATB) Salary 
Scale: €50,807 - €76,936 p.a.


2013 (2011) Lecturer (ATB) Salary Scale: €45,726 – €69,275 p.a.*

* Subject to all new entrants to public sector as of 01 January 2011


Appointment will be made on scale and in accordance with the Department of Finance guidelines
