Can anybody advise me on this please?: I'm wanting a spreadsheet listing every country with a large range of data for each (area, population, income, etc etc., with subcategories where possible). 

There are lots of possible sources. But which is the best, esp. in terms of range of variables, uptodateness, quality of metadata, etc etc?
