yup

On the one hand I deplore the confusion between art and design, for to my
mind, they are two rather different things.

On the other hand, I applaud the combination of art and design, for great
design is also great art, and I am always in awe of the way great artists
who venture into design can completely transform the way we view things.
Training designers in art and art in design can create monstrosities, of
use or appeal to no one, or fantastic creations that transform our world.

In other words, i am even more confused than anyone else.
