Please find below details on two events coming up in May, an in particular the call for papers, and please see attachments for more details.

The Brunel Macroeconomics Research Centre (and the Centre for Empirical Finance) and the Department of Economics, Management and Statistics (DEMS), University of Milano-Bicocca, have jointly organised a two days conference on Macro and Financial Economics/Econometrics on Monday and Tuesday 18-19th of May, 2015 at Brunel University, London (UK). The aim of the conference is to bring together researchers and practitioners from a variety of fields and countries, to discuss and exchange ideas. The conference is sponsored by the Society of Nonlinear Dynamics and Econometrics (SNDE) and the Money Macro and Finance Research  Group (MMF). 

We welcome submissions of papers on any aspects of recent theoretical and empirical developments in macro and financial economics and econometrics. Two workshops will be held on May 21-22, 2015, at Palacongressi, Rimini, Italy.

1)  "Economic Growth and Development: The Structural and Institutional Factors".

KEYNOTE SPEAKERS: Philippe Aghion (Harvard University and RCEA), Maitreesh Ghatak (London School of Economics), Eric Verhoogen (Columbia University).

Authors should submit an extended abstract of up to 500 words. Please include with the submission JEL classification codes for the paper, keywords as well as JEL classification codes. Complete papers may be submitted but the extended abstract is required. In case of more than one author the name of the presenter should be underlined. To submit a paper please send the abstract/paper through the workshop website www.rcfea.org.
Proposals for sessions, consisting of three or four papers, are particularly welcome. If you are interested in submitting a session, please send the session topic, paper titles and names of authors to Gianluigi Pelloni, [log in to unmask]. Each paper would have to be submitted individually through the workshopwebsite www.rcfea.org. The paper submission deadline is April 10, 2015. There are no submission fees. Notification of acceptance: Authors will be notified of the workshop scientific committee's decision by April 16, 2015.

2) “The Great Recession: Moving Ahead”.

D. Howe Institute), Lucio Sarno (Cass Business School, City University London, CEPR and RCEA), Pierre Siklos (Wilfrid Laurier University, CIGI and RCEA).

The challenges posed to Central Banking by the “Great Recession” will be debated within the panel discussion "New Challenges for Central Banks" which will be part of “The Great Recession: Moving Ahead” workshop. The panel will include Steve Ambler, Professor, Université du Québéc à Montréal; David Dodge, Chair in Monetary Policy, C.D. Howe Institute and RCEA Senior Fellow;  John Murray, Senior Fellow, C.D. Howe Institute and former Deputy Governor of the Bank of Canada; Pierre Siklos,  Professor, Department of Economics, Wilfrid Laurier University, Director of Viessmann European Research Centre, Wilfrid Laurier University,  Senior Fellow, Centre for International Governance Innovation-CIGI and RCEA Senior Fellow. Domenico Lombardi, Director of the Global Economy at Program, Centre for International Governance Innovation-CIGI, will chair the discussion.
