CALL FOR PAPERS

IET CONFERENCE ON THE HISTORY OF ENGINEERING, NEWCASTLE 6th JUNE 2015

Submissions are invited for papers to be presented at a conference to be held at the Discovery Museum in Newcastle-upon-Tyne on Saturday 6th June 2015. Organised by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) History of Technology Community, the conference theme will be the history of engineering, with emphasis on the development of electrical power generation, distribution, utilisation and the associated manufacturing industries in the North East.

Papers on the history of other engineering innovations in the North East, including non-electrical topics, will be considered in addition to offers on similar topics relating to other UK and non-UK locations.

SUBMISSION OF ABSTRACTS
Those wishing to offer papers for consideration to be read at the conference should submit an abstract not exceeding 200 words by email to the Anne Locker, IET Library and Archives Manger ([log in to unmask]) by the end of March 2015. Abstracts should clearly identify the topic and scope of the proposed paper.

SELECTION OF PAPERS
Abstracts will be considered by the Papers Selection Sub-Committee and authors of those selected will be advised by mid-April.

PRESENTATION AND PUBLICATION
Although no restriction, within reason, will be placed on the length of written version of papers to be published, authors must note that presentations at the conference on 6th June 2015 will be time restricted to between 20-30 minutes per paper.
