I have already shown this video to my students today. It was very well received.   It really inspired them and also showed them it is normal to feel "scared" before a speaking assessment.

Thank you

That was a great little video, well done to your students  -- I’m going to show it to my students and make them see that there’s nothing wrong with ‘freezing’, it’s the learning and the excitement of taking part that counts.
I’d urge the organisers next year to take more care with the timing, I notice in the clip that even in the final they changed a student’s time to be on without informing them…we turned up to the first heats to find we’d been rescheduled so had missed our slots and had to hurry straight on.  It’s not fair on the students who are already nervous anyway.

Happy Easter everyone

Fantastic! Well done, Liquan. These hard-working young people deserve more chances. Can IOE organise some more similar events? So Mandarin learners have more chances to show off what they have learned.

Well done to Natalie and all students who braved the final and to the amazing winners!

The 17 year-old Louis Carmichael is one of my students who is now hoping to carry on his Chinese to AS level and is looking into universities to study Chinese.

Have a lovely Easter!
