italian-studies: Scholarly discussions in any field of Italian studies

Dear Colleagues,



The Department of Italian Studies, Casa Italiana Zerilli-Marimò, and
Medieval and Renaissance Center at New York University together with the
Italian Academy for Advanced Studies and Department of Italian at Columbia
University will be hosting a one-day international symposium on Dante’s
*Monarchia*, launching the Global Dante Project of New York, on Friday,
March 27th. The event, entitled *“Dante as a Political Theorist:
Historicizing Theology and Theologizing Power,”* will feature presentations
from prominent scholars around the world.



Please see below for a revised list of presenters and paper
titles, including a new speaker, Professor Jean Baptiste Brenet. No RSVP is
necessary.

NYU Casa Italiana Zerilli-Marimò: 8:30am to 1:00pm,

COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY, The Italian Academy: 2:45pm to 6:30pm.
