Are you considering developing some digital resources for your visiting families but don't know where to start? Should you develop your own app or just put things online? Can you make your building or collections more accessible using digital content? Can devices really improve a family's visiting experience to your museum or gallery? Kids in Museums have developed a new Digital Families workshop to help you explore some of the options.

Thanks to sponsorship from ATS Heritage, we are able to offer this first Digital Families workshop at the reduced rate of £85. ATS Heritage will also be running a digital storytelling workshop to plan content for a digital resource. Our host, the British Museum, will be running a workshop on using tablets effectively in galleries.

Hear about the latest research into the ways families and children use digital media from Simon Leggett of Childwise, Katie Moffat of the Audience Agency and Aalia Walker of Smack Agency.

Our Famous Five Minute Blasts are returning, and this time you'll hear from Cath Logan of Circus Starr about their award winning Show and Tell app to help families with autism enjoy the circus, Jonathan Wallis of Derby Museums about the ways their family visitors are using the public wifi, and about digital badging from Katie Valentine of Digital Drama.

You'll get the opportunity to learn new skills and plan for the future in the workshops in the afternoon, which includes learning about Minecraft from Ryan Watts of Butser Ancient Farm, wondering To App or not to App with Martin Bazley, and learn how to master a hashtag campaign on Twitter with Mar Dixon.

So to be in with an opportunity to share ideas, enjoy challenging discussion and see best practice techniques in action, book now!

Our workshops are great for people working in: Education, Family Learning, Visitor Services and Experience, Digital Audiences, Digital Interpretation, Marketing and Communications, Interpretation, Audience Development, Public Engagement and Programming, and Digital Engagement.

Please feel free to circulate this invitation to any one you think would be interested in a Kids in Museums workshop.

Hope to see you there
