Learning On My Doorstep Project Share Day
24th April, 13.00 - 16.30 (FREE with lunch provided from 13.00 - 13.30)

Learning On My Doorstep (LOMD) is an Arts Council England funded project led by Surrey Heritage and Surrey Museums Partnership. The project was designed to support museums and schools at a critical time of change to the National Curriculum. The LOMD team worked with 18 partner museums, the county archive, the county archaeology unit and a broad range of other cultural organisations to respond to the new curriculum and build lasting links with Surrey schools.

The LOMD Share Day will include case studies from our partner museums, the schools and other cultural organisations involved in the project. These presentations will demonstrate the breadth of opportunity for museums and their local schools. We will share with you our experiences of:
- what has worked well, and what has not worked so well!
- making links with the whole staff rather than an individual teacher or department
- looking at whole school planning, rather than a one off visit
- what has been developed - whole school visits, taught sessions, loan boxes and resource packs
