Assistant Professor, Community Economic Development & Economic Geography

The Shannon School of Business at CBU invites applications for a
full-time term position (sabbatical replacement) in Community Economic
Development & Economic Geography at the rank of Assistant Professor to
commence July 2015 and end April 2016, subject to budget approval.

The successful candidate will teach courses in the Business and
Community Development & Economic Geography courses in the MBA in
Community Economic Development degree program.

Candidates should have a PhD in a relevant discipline or a comparable
Doctoral award (or be near completion). Candidates with degrees in
economic geography, community development, and social economy
disciplines are encouraged to apply. The School is seeking collaborative
individuals who have the potential to enrich teaching and contribute
actively to the life of the School community.

Applicants are expected to demonstrate potential and commitment with
regard to teaching, research/creative/scholarly activities and service
to Cape Breton University, community and profession.

The union affiliation of this position is with the Cape Breton
University Faculty Association.

Qualified candidates should send a letter of application quoting the
reference number (CED1502), a complete dossier including curriculum
vitae, academic transcripts (unofficial copies acceptable at this
stage), evidence of teaching effectiveness, a sample of scholarly
writing and three current letters of reference (sent directly to CBU) to
