Subject: Photographs or should we be calling them images.

I personally think you should always take as many images as possible for recording site investigations, in fact you can never take enough! Today it's easy as film and processing used to be very expensive to produce a professional image and now you can replicate the same image quality on a mobile phone. When it comes to replicating the scene, I think a lot of people forget to put in a scale which is really important. Colour is different as in varying light conditions it will never reproduce the same. Post processing digital images for colour balance isn't recommended. You can't beat a good quality image that speaks volumes at your desk when you have forgotten to make notes in the field which is easily done. They provide a great line of defensible evidence if produced and resented professionally. Oh and spot the mistake!

RMack.
