Stratagem Technologies is looking for passionate data scientists at all levels to enhance our team. You realise the potential that your skills can provide to help us achieve our mission to establish sports betting as an alternative asset class for sophisticated investors.
THE ROLE
As part of the Statistical Modelling and Data Science team, we have a range of opportunities to work in a variety of challenging areas. Our team works on problems ranging from developing and implementing our suite of statistical models for analysing sporting events, through to developing approaches to utilise these signals for trading in the sports betting market. We are recruiting to expand the range of sports that we model (adding cricket, golf, basketball, American football and ice hockey) and to optimise trading strategies and our approach to risk management.
We have positions at all levels within the team, from senior data scientists through to intern positions for individuals embarking on a career in data science and statistical modelling. Applications are welcome either on a full-time or part-time basis. Candidates with experience of modelling sporting events or financial quantitative analysis are particularly encouraged to apply, but equally we are seeking candidates eager to take their first steps on a career path, or seeking to gain experience working on challenging problems within a commercial environment.

YOUR PROFILE
We are seeking talented and motivated data scientists with a background or experience in statistical modelling or machine learning. You should be excited to work on challenging problems and confident to contribute ideas and challenge assumptions from your first day. You will be able to demonstrate your abilities through tangible work or projects.
You will have an excellent first degree in a scientific subject with considerable statistical content. More experienced candidates are likely to have a postgraduate qualification in a related area.
While applicants are likely to have specialist skills in specific areas, we want team players who love what they do and are willing to go the extra mile and extend themselves beyond their comfort zone. Our existing technology utilises Python, R, C++ and MongoDB, and where possible we use open source technologies. However, we strongly believe in using the right tool for the job, so are always open to new approaches that present the opportunity to improve business value.
