Dear All

We are delighted to announce the LMS-CMI Research School "Developments in Modern Probability” will be in Oxford from 6-10 July 2015.

The principal aim of the LMS-CMI Research School is to provide training and preparation for young researchers working both in Britain and further afield, many of whom will be attending SPA2015 the following week.  The subjects of the courses represent some of the most exciting areas of current research in probability, and have been chosen to tie in with a subset of the plenary lectures for SPA.

We are pleased to announce the three lecturers:

Nathanaël Berestycki: Two-dimensional Liouville quantum gravity and the Gaussian free field.

Paul Bourgade: Random matrices and PDEs.

Ivan Corwin: Integrable probability and the KPZ universality classes.

The Research School will be held at the Department of Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry Lecture Theatre from Monday 6th July - Friday 10th July 2015.  Accommodation will be at Wolfson College and St Hugh's College.

Registration fees:

£150 for PhD students

£250 for postdocs and other participants

There are 54 places available with dinner, bed and breakfast included.  These will be provided free of charge to PhD students and postdocs; other participants will be charged the full subsistence cost of £580.

We will be able to accept more participants than this number, provided that they are able to arrange their own accommodation and meals in Oxford, up to the limit imposed by the size of the lecture room.

UK-based participants must pay their own travel expenses.  There will be support available to contribute towards the travel expenses of overseas-based participants.

To apply, please complete the application form: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/JG93HFN by Monday 13 April 2015.

Those interested are advised to make an early application. All applicants will be contacted within two weeks after the deadline; information about individual applications will not be available before then.

The LMS-CMI Research Schools are supported by the London Mathematical Society, the Clay Mathematics Institute and the Heilbronn Institute for Mathematical Research.  For more information about the Research Schools, please visit: http://www.lms.ac.uk/events/lms-cmi-research-schools
