Dear
all
As I’m
sure most of us are doing at the moment, I’m looking to increase income
generation potential for the Museum. One of the ways that it has been
suggested to us to do so, is by creating touring exhibitions. I know that
there’s the Touring Exhibitions Group, but I wanted a view from the coal
face of social history museums…
I’d
be ever so grateful if any of you who have/do create touring exhibitions for
fellow social history museums could get in touch. I’m particularly
interested in the type of exhibitions you create, how much you charge, other
costs you attach to hirers, but crucially, how much you actually make on it (ie.
profit not income), and whether you’ve seen demand increase, decline or remain
the same over the past couple of years.
Email
below if you’d like to reply off-list. I’d be very
appreciative of honest, candid answers(!) and will keep confidential if wished.
All the
best
