I am curious - and I think others may be too, hence (cautiously) copying to the list - does the work you're doing at PedRIO follow on directly from the 2012 HEA Report on the impact of TDPs (Parsons et al. 2012)?
While apprehensive about rehashing a conversation that probably happens on here at least once a year, I wanted to share something that may be of interest. I felt a little conflicted/frustrated while completing the survey, having critiqued the 2012 HEA report
for my EdD last year. This culminated in a hypothetical research proposal,
available here (with critical commentary). The proposal emphasises the capture of 'slow burn' effects - which at our institution we don't currently do in any formal way, and which you pick up on in your survey questions. My thinking on this topic has since
developed further in reconsidering the link between 'teaching' and 'learning', and how this relates to structure and agency (e.g.
Williams 2012)
If we apply Williams' and Archer's critical realist perspective to teacher CPD, we appreciate that teachers develop their teaching practice
with and/or without teacher CPD. However, there is pressure on CPD units from certain directions to show that changes in teacher attitudes/behaviour are down to our courses, and - likewise - that changes in teacher attitudes/behaviour are the causes
of changes in student learning. This approach emphasises the role of pedagogy (structure) over the individual agency of teachers and students.
I'm not entirely sure where we go from here, but my gut feeling is that we should be more interested in individual agency, and interrogate this equally alongside pedagogic structures,
as the two are both separate AND interrelated. My concern is that on focusing purely on structure, we miss other developmental factors that may also inform our practice.

We are currently working on a project on behalf of the HEA which evaluates teaching-related Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in Higher Education. As part of this work we are keen to canvas the perspectives of the Educational / Academic Development
community to capture insights into current practices in CPD provision and evaluation.
This project aims to create state of the art knowledge and understanding concerning the impact of teaching-related CPD on the student learning experience. Based on this work we intend to develop an evaluation framework for use across the HE sector to guide
