RGS-IBG Professional development day for those on teaching-focused contracts

An event for early (post PhD) - or mid-career academics employed in teaching-focused posts in geography (GEES) who are considering how to further develop their professional position.  The event will enable you to meet colleagues from a range of institutions, share ideas and experiences and develop a personal action plan.

Sessions will include (please note these may be subject to change):

  *   Welcome and introduction
  *   Mapping the issues, what matters to me
  *   Making and taking opportunities, being flexible in a fast moving world
  *   Where do I want to be and when?, setting smart personal targets
  *   Promotion within institutions, how to get to Associate Professor and Professor
  *   Opportunities outside the academic sphere
  *   Pulling plans together
