This is a fundamental workshop for all archives organisations undertaking any fundraising activities.

This one day course will guide participants through essential preparatory steps in developing a future funding strategy, and help them to assess options for exploring future funding strategies.
The day will include lively and inter-active learning which will challenge participants to reflect on their organisational and individual needs and help them make decisions about future learning and planning for increasing their funding options.

Who is the event for?
Staff, volunteers, committee members or trustees who may have responsibility for developing or carrying out fundraising activities for an archives project or similar.

Aim of the day:

On completion of this workshop, it is expected that learners will be able to:

  *   Understand and articulate their own organisational funding model and benchmark its position relative to the sector.
  *   Understand how to analyse their cost base and productivity and how this informs their financial planning and options.
  *   Engage with key decision makers to influence the outcome of governance reviews, options appraisals and commissioning.
  *   Know where to go for best practice guidance from leaders in the sector and case studies of transformation.
  *   Take forward a development plan for improving financial resilience.
