Applications are invited for a 1-year teaching associate in the history of 
modern science.

The successful candidate will have completed a PhD (and will hold a PhD 
certificate) before taking up the post. The successful candidate will be 
expected to contribute to the lecturing, supervising, examination and 
administration of courses for both undergraduate and graduate students in 
the Department. The candidate should be prepared to deliver lectures and 
supervise written work on a broad range of topics in the history of the 
natural sciences during the nineteenth and twentieth centuries up through 
the end of World War II.

This will include up to 24 lectures, together with leading a primary source 
seminar and an MPhil seminar. Key lecturing responsibilities will include 
courses on 'Science and Empire' and 'Science and Technology, 1914-1945'. 
The position will start on 1 September 2015, and will include an initial 
6-month probation period.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 1 years in the first 
instance.
