RE-USE OF PUBLIC SECTOR INFORMATION

Workshop on Practical implications for the Scottish Cultural Sector

DATE:                    13 March 2015

TIME:                    10.30am to 1:00pm

VENUE:                The Dome, New Register House, Edinburgh

The European Directive on the re-use of public sector information (the PSI Directive) has been in place since 2003. The PSI Directive was amended in 2013, with measures to increase the number of public sector bodies which are subject to the Directive, extending the scope to Archives, Libraries and Museums.  See link below -

http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/documents/information-management/psi-directive-transposition-intro-guide.pdf

This workshop will be of interest to Scottish public sector archives, libraries, university libraries and museums which will be brought within the scope of the PSI Directive for the first time. It will explain what the amended Directive means for Scottish cultural sector bodies and the practical steps that can be taken to prepare – and places these developments in the context of the Scottish Open Data Strategy for Digital Scotland.
