The company

BPP develops and trains business professionals throughout their careers. We were the first for-profit private company to be granted degree awarding powers by the Privy Council in 2007 and in 2013 were granted full UK University status.

BPP’s Library and Information Service aims to provide library services to support BPP University programmes at learning centres across the UK and online.

The role

You will be responsible for managing BPP’s library and student materials acquisitions processes and procedures. You will be BPP’s expert in library and student materials acquisitions and will ensure purchasing is managed centrally in the most cost effective way. You will play a key role in driving innovation in library acquisitions at BPP in support of the wider library strategy.

What we’re looking for

With an enthusiasm for developing and delivering an outstanding service; you will be able to demonstrate initiative and innovation. You will have excellent organisational, communication and time management skills, with experience in managing projects and supervising staff. The successful candidate will have experience of library acquisitions in an academic environment along with experience of designing and delivering training. You will have an understanding of financial management and knowledge of library metadata standards such as MARC21, AACR2 and RDA. In addition, you will have a high level of IT literacy to include Microsoft Office Programmes (Word, Excel Outlook), Library Management Systems and Virtual Learning Environments.
