Dear all,

I would be interested to hear from those of you who may request copyright clearance for items outside the CLA HE licence.

For example, when more than a chapter or 5% of a book is requested for digitisation.

Do you use Heron, another service or contact the publishers directly?
Do you get positive results, is it effective?
Would you have any recommendation?

We have been using Heron and on a couple of occasions have contacted the copyright holder/publisher.
With Heron the process seems to have slowed down this year, resulting on a couple of requests from the Autumn term without a resolution yet.
Contacting publishers or right holders has been positive this year and incurring into payment so far!

Please let us know how this is working for you.

Thank you!
