Just to say that I followed Nick’s course in York last May and found it excellent!  Really engaging.

Subject: 'Student-Generated Induction' Workshop, York March 25th

" A new way of addressing induction with an informed and researched pedagogy to underpin the discussion" [Workshop Participant]

Dear All,
You may be interested in this social and participative approach to student induction & transition. The practice is based on a peer-to-peer relationship and provides a strong fit with modern concepts such as 'Student-As-Producer' and 'Student-As-Partner.'

This experiential staff development workshop is called "Student-Generated Induction: A Social Identity Approach" and it takes place at the Royal Hotel(next door to York train station) in York on Wednesday March 25th 2015.

The workshop will provide new group-level theory and practice for student induction. This has been developed from doctoral research at University of Glasgow. Participants will have the opportunity to experience an approach already in use in different universities. Participants will use this scalable approach to share and discuss aspects of their current practice.

This event has proved very popular in recent times providing a useful forum for reflection amongst support & information professionals as well as academics. If you would like to book a place, you are welcome to use the attached booking form and to be invoiced later. Alternatively, further details of the workshop and how to book online via Eventbrite at: http://bit.ly/17ZjcGT

Best Wishes,
Nick
