Hi,
We have noticed an increase in this area too. Currently we have some ‘back friends’ which students can loan out if that helps them and we also have one or maybe two ergonomic chairs which can be placed in lectures
or exams as needed, although we are finding there is more pressure on this now so it’s getting trickier to arrange!

Subject: Lecture Seating
Hi All,
I was looking for some advice on how other universities handle arrangements for requests for specific seating in lecture theatres. We are seeing increasing numbers of students
that are unable to use the traditional fixed seating in lecture theatres and are requesting specific chairs etc. Do other universities have any policies or statements about what they can and cannot provide? If you do make arrangements for specific seating,
how do you manage this particularly if the student could be based in multiple lecture theatres across the university? Any information about this is gratefully received as we are thinking about how to tackle this, particularly in light of forthcoming DSA changes.
Thanks,
Catherine
