With an ever growing knowledge base in neuroscience providing a scientific underpinning of the importance of attachment relationships it is increasingly important for all those within the education
system to develop a greater understanding of the potential implications for meeting the needs of a wide range of pupils.
This session will address the importance of understanding the complex nature of individual pupils’ learning profiles who may share characteristics associated with unmet attachment needs and
other conditions such as autism. It will include consideration of how professionals working with young people can help them to learn to self-regulate their emotional states for increased access to learning opportunities, through
co regulation and co learning.
