Collaborative Doctoral Partnership Studentship in Caribbean History http://www.ncl.ac.uk/historical/news/item/collaborative-doctoral-award-in-caribbean-history

Applications are invited for an AHRC-funded Collaborative Doctoral Partnership studentship in History (PhD studentship, commencing autumn 2015) on Vagrancy and Poverty in the Post-Emancipation Anglophone Caribbean, 1834-1900.

The project is a collaboration between Newcastle University and The National Archives. It will be supervised by Dr Diana Paton and Dr Joan Allen (Newcastle University) and Dr Daniel Gilfoyle (The National Archives).

The award includes tuition fees at the UK/EU rate for the three-year duration of the PhD and provides an annual maintenance grant set at the UK Research Council's national postgraduate rate, which is currently £13,863 (subject to review).

Due to AHRC restrictions the award is available to UK/EU applicants only. Depending on how you meet the AHRC's eligibility criteria, you may be entitled to a full or a partial award.

Closing date for receipt of applications is 13 April 2015. Interviews will take place in Newcastle on 5 May 2015.

Applicants should have a good undergraduate degree and normally have completed a Masters degree in history or a related discipline by October 2015. Full details about the studentship and how to apply are available here: http://www.ncl.ac.uk/historical/assets/documents/CollaborativeDoctoralAwardFullDetails.pdf
