You must have a PhD in a relevant field, submitted or very near completion, and demonstrable teaching experience in Chinese history and/or cultural studies at university level. We are particularly interested in you having expertise in pre-twentieth-century Chinese history and/or cultural studies. Ideally, you will also be able to teach Classical Chinese. You must be fluent in English. You must have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to empathize with students. Experience with virtual learning environments and in developing online teaching materials are highly desirable.
