Hi Angela,
Doubt very much doubt if any CRP methods were approved use with synovial fluid i.e. CE marked or manufacturer's data approved for measuring CRP in synovial fluid - completely different matrix to serum.

Would disagree with conclusion - it might be inferred maybe ??

paper concludes - In conclusion, as CRP assays are standard tests in medical laboratories, the measurement of synovial CRP may be easily transferred into clinical practice, expanding the diagnostic battery for chronic periprosthetic hip infections.

Is your assay CE marked for synovial fluid??

Dear mailbase,

We've had a request from one of our orthopaedic surgeons to measure CRP in synovial fluid - apparently it is a better marker for periprosthetic infection than serum CRP. Is there anyone out there that has validated the method for synovial fluid/ offering the service? (nothing on assay finder)
Any drops of wisdom will be gratefully received.
Thanks,

Angela
