We didn't do a formal eval of App-V but we did have discussions with a few people who had tried it and hit problems with some of the more complex apps.

We (Imperial College) are starting to use Application Jukebox. So far, it's looking very useful. The biggest benefit it seems to have over App-V is that it's able to virtualise ("Cloud Page") just about anything whereas there seem to be quite a few applications which won't work with App-V.

It's very fast to load apps - eg Matlab loads much more quickly in the Player than it does from a local hard disk (presumably because it's only loading what's needed rather than junk that just lurks in the background)

The application licensing model is pretty sophisticated - you can tie licenses down so that they will only work if you can contact the AJ server or you can check out licenses so that the software can be used off net etc.

Apologies if these questions have previously been discussed. We are looking at delivering some applications virtually to students and staff. While Application Jukebox looks impressive, the cost is rather high when compared to App-V with SCCM 2012 and Microsoft Intune. Has anyone experience either or ideally both products?
