Hi,

This is really a question for colleagues in open-air museums, built heritage, and industrial collections.

I’ve been asked to find a contractor to help preserve the puddling wheel, which is all that remains, of a local ‘Pulhamite stone’ manufactory.  Having checked the Conservation Register, no-one seems to have worked on anything quite like this.  Most of those listed under industrial seem to specialise in large iron machinery, while the building conservators seem to be more architecturally based.

Maybe I’m being too literal, but I’d be grateful if anyone out there who has faced this kind of problem could offer some advice.

Many thanks

Jill
