Deputy Director of Institute for Teaching and Learning Innovation (ITaLI) and Professor of Higher Education

The role

This is a senior, staff-facing role with both leadership and staff development responsibilities in teaching, assessment, curriculum design and teaching awards and grants. This position leads ITaLI’s work to enhance the quality of educational practice and the educational experience at all levels across the University.  The loosely-termed Teaching Excellence group currently comprises a team of academic and professional staff that is responsible for providing advice and support to individual academics, teaching teams, Schools and Faculties in teaching, assessment practice, curriculum design, technology-enabled educational innovation and teaching awards, grants and fellowships.

The person

The successful candidate will have a research-based doctoral degree with demonstrated knowledge of the relevant policies and objectives that will shape the future of higher education in Australia, plus demonstrated capacity to lead significant organisational change, including experience in leading and implementing University-wide organisational change to improve student learning outcomes.

Deputy Director of ITaLI and Professor of Learning Futures

The role

This is a senior, staff-facing role with responsibility to guide the University’s strategic objectives in the area of educational technology innovation, eLearning, and the impact of new technologies on pedagogy. This position leads ITaLI’s UQx and the Learning Analytics and Evaluations units to enhance the quality of educational practice and the educational experience across the University.

The person

The successful candidate will have a PhD and a specialisation in research and development in education technology innovation, with extensive knowledge and experience in this field or a related area at a senior level, plus demonstrated capacity to lead significant organisational change, including experience in leading and implementing University-wide organisational change with a focus on digital learning and the systematic application of learning analytics.
