You are warmly invited to an evening to mark the publication of THE PENGUIN BOOK OF RUSSIAN POETRY, edited by Robert Chandler, Irina Mashinski and Boris Dralyuk:

 

March 19, 5.30-7 pm in the Nissan Lecture Theatre, St Antony's.

 

Then drinks till 8 pm in the RESC Library, Main Building, St Antony's.

 

The evening will include poems by Velimir Khlebnikov, Vladimir Mayakovsky, Lev Ozerov and Boris Slutsky.  Translator/readers will include Robert Chandler, Boris Dralyuk, Irina Mashinski, Gerry Smith, James Womack.

 

This is the first Penguin anthology of Russian verse since Dmitri Obolensky’s volume of 1962.
