> Dear Colleagues > > First and foremost on behalf of Elizabeth, Jenny and myself may I take this opportunity to wish you all a Happy New Year, this month has gone by so quick its hard to believe there are only 8 working days left! > > The IRMS Public Sector Group are delighted to announce that we have now finalised the speakers for the first Public Sector Group 2015 Programme. The overarching theme for the year will be “Records Management, Information Management, Information Governance - an evolving culture”. The title for this meeting "What is Records Management” kicks the programme off to an excellent start. > > We are very pleased to welcome Professor Elizabeth Shepherd from University College, London. Elizabeth will be looking at current records management requirements and also looking ahead to how the requirements of the Open Data regime will impact on records management moving forward. Emily Overton, our Groups Director and known as RM Girl, will be exploring some of the records management issues which have arisen due to the use of social media. James Lappin, the author of Thinking Records Management blog, http://thinkingrecords.co.uk will round off the day with a presentation on the difference between document control and records management. > > The meeting is free of charge and will take place at the Westminster Archives Centre on Friday March 13th.
