Dear Colleagues
Happy New Year from everyone at the NMS!
Over the past twelve months we have been heavily engaged in planning, packing and moving our entire Natural Sciences collection (except for palaeontology the lucky so-and-so’s) to a new storage facility. During the planning and moving stage,
it became clear that there would be no space for all the maps cabinets and the situation is approaching critical as the building they are stored in is being emptied for refurbishment and development. This means that we will be unable to retain the bulk of
this collection. Much of this is, of course, Scottish linked with an incomplete but extensive collection of geological maps of various dates, scales and in both solid and drift. There are a few other items as well of a non-Scottish nature.
If anyone thinks they can give a good home to these, please contact me as soon as possible and will send them an Excel Workbook with the inventory.
Cheers
