Library and Digital Support is seeking to appoint a Digital Curator, operating within the wider environment of Technology & Information Services and across the University.  The Digital Curator will advocate, guide, and help introduce best practise throughout the institution related to digital collections and records management.

This is a new post and offers an exciting opportunity to provide leadership in this important and developing area.  You will have a good understanding or experience of digital collections management throughout the lifecycle, a creative and forward looking approach to the development of digital collection services for sustainability and continuity, and the potential to help us develop your knowledge, skills and expertise in these and related areas.

You will hold a relevant professional or vocational qualification (e.g. in librarianship, archives, information, records management, galleries, museums or digital preservation), and have previous experience of working in a relevant environment, with an emphasis on the management of digital collections or repositories.  You will have experience of developing and embedding policies and processes that support workflows for digital collections or records management.  An understanding of the technical software, platforms and infrastructure involved in supporting digital continuity, project planning skills, organisational and analytical ability, negotiation & influencing skills, excellent communication, effective people management, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are important requirements for this role.
