Hi all,

I am new to FSL and TBSS and wanted to calculate effect sizes from the obtained TFCE statistics that I got from a comparison of FA maps of two groups using TBSS. The forum was really helpful, and through the links below I was able to calculate Cohen's d.
(https://www.jiscmail.ac.uk/cgi-bin/webadmin?A2=ind1406&L=fsl&P=R134166&1=fsl&9=A&J=on&d=No+Match%3BMatch%3BMatches&z=4 and https://www.jiscmail.ac.uk/cgi-bin/webadmin?A2=ind1408&L=fsl&P=R50060&1=fsl&9=A&J=on&d=No+Match%3BMatch%3BMatches&z=4).

The problem I have, however, if that the effect sizes I obtain in this way (from *_tstatN.nii.gz) and the TFCE-dericed FWE corrected p-values (*_tfce_corrp_tstatN.nii.gz) do not match at all. Regions that do not show up at all in the p-values give very high effect sizes, and vice versa. Because of this, I feel it rather unreliable to state effect sizes in my paper given that it does not match the p-values most often reported. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to achieve effect sizes based on the TFCE-derived statistics?

Thanks,
Sjoerd
